Brooms is Executive Director of the Black Men's Research Institute and a Professor of Africana Studies at Morehouse College. Through research, teaching, service, and community/collaborative work, Dr. Brooms is committed to educational equity, inclusion, and racial justice. Brooms' research primarily centers on Black men's and boys' lived experiences as well as their pathways to and through college. In exploring their educational experiences, he focuses on Black boys' and men's educational aspirations, sense of self, engagement on campus, and identity development.
