John Sharify takes you on an impactful journey in a new documentary, This Land is Our Land. Sharify wrote, produced and narrates the
documentary taking you on a tour through the ‘red states' with the Seattle Men's
Chorus and Seattle Women's Chorus.
With some
trepidation, courageous members of the two choruses embark on a bus tour to
towns like Pocatello and Salt Lake City. Much to their surprise and relief, most of
the reaction "out there" is welcoming and heart-warming. And their journey leads them on an emotional
and affirming experience, where gay, lesbian and straight audience members-
including some chorus members' parents - find a common spirit.
The
documentary airs on SCCtv Sunday, October 26 at 7:00pm, the evening following its
debut at the 2008 Seattle Lesbian
and Gay Film Festival. The
documentary will premier at Noon on Saturday, October 25, at the King Cat Theater in downtown Seattle.
