television.  But we're much more
than just television!  SCCtv is a
gathering of television broadcast production skills and the latest in Web
hosting and digital delivery, offering our local, national and international
clients a vast and well rounded set of tools to create the most advanced tools
to convey their learning and community focused message.
With a
staff of photographers, writers, editors and producers who bring years of
commercial and public television experience, extensive award winning talents
(including Emmy, National Murrow, Telly and Education Reporting awards) and
vast cutting-edge digital technical knowledge, SCCtv delivers distance learning
and educational video via Web stream digital delivery, broadcast (on Seattle
area cable channels Comcast Ch 28 and Broadstripe Ch 19) and other platforms.

SCCtv (Cable)
Education based
television is the focus of SCCtv cable. 
Daytime cable programming on weekdays is often tied directly to the
coursework of instructors at Seattle Community Colleges.  SCCtv also airs and produces community
focused programming and originates a number of regular program series including
Remarkable People with Jean
Walkenshaw, Professor Fred's Movie Marvels and Centuries of Great Music with Orchestra Seattle. Many of these shows and more are archived and served on
demand at www.scctv.net.
In fact, SCCtv became the first
community college television station to stream live, fulltime 24/7/365 on the
Internet.
IRIS Education
SCCtv's
IRIS Education is an advanced digital distribution system allowing
organizations to use IRIS (Internet Resources Instructional System) as their
Web portal to deliver high-quality video, graphic and multimedia educational
content to students, faculty, administrators and others.  IRIS serves as the streaming portal for
several major telecourse producers, educational content providers,
not-for-profit agencies and government agencies throughout the US and
Canada.  More than 77,000 K-12
public schools and 800 colleges and universities access educational video and
rich media through IRIS Education.

Rainier
Radio
RAinier Radio was launched
in January 2008, SCCtv's Rainier Radio as a Web-based radio station streaming
historical recordings from radio stations throughout Washington State.  Rainier Radio's initial mission is to
locate, archive and stream radio programs from the 1930s to today, featuring
the shows and personalities who made these stations memorable.  Rainier Radio is currently undergoing remodel, but can be found on the Web
at www.rainierradio.org.
Other

SCCtv and IRIS Education
